The Astalli Palermo Center is a voluntary association that is part of the Jesuit Refugee Service’s territorial network in Italy: its spirit is to defend the rights, integration and inclusion of non-EU immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers . It was born in 2003 as an Italian school led by a group of volunteers from the Community of Christian Life at the CEI – Ignaziano Educational Center. In 2006 it started to work at Piazza SS 40 Martiri, in the historical district of Ballarò where, with the help of people who make available their time and their skills in absolute gratuity, it offers to the users first and second welcoming services.
